April Showers Bring May Showers?

Once upon a time, in the land called Zion, there lived a lovely young woman. Each year in the Springtime, when Zion’s snowcapped mountains turned green, the young woman would arise from her frozen slumber to frolic merrily throughout the land in sundresses and flip-flops.  The sun would warm the land and decorate it’s hills with abundant tulips and pansies. Each year the young woman’s heart was warmed and her soul inspired by the beauty and warmth of Springtime.
…but Evil was lurking.
Angered by the happiness of the people of the land during Springtime, Evil began to work his dark magic. He began to burn more and more fossil fuels.  Quickly he released so much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere he caused major climate changes all over the earth. Springtime in Zion became darker. The rains fell longer and the sun hid. The lovely young woman’s heart was broken. Her sundresses and flip-flops were forced to stay in the back of her closet longer and the snowcapped mountains remained into May.

Okay, maybe I’m being a bit extreme.  But honestly, I’ve had enough.  Where are my beloved sunny days in Zion? 45 degrees and showers are really putting a damper on more than just the roads.

Sadly,

California Love

Jacks, Lou and I spent the weekend in sunny southern California. We acted like fools, rocked to reggae, bronzed on the beach, rode a ferris wheel over the ocean and held hands with stars… you know, we did the things you’re supposed to do on vaycay and we had way too much fun doing all of it. I nurtured my inner Kiwi and spoke with a New Zealand accent for the majority of the weekend and in true fashion, I even put some love into the air while the ocean waves lapped against my feet. *sigh*
For the record, San Diego kicks Los Angeles’ butt and I still despise the Lakers, which made it really awesome to be in L.A. while the Mavs ousted them from the Playoffs (woohoo!!).
…picture overload…
From 'Terminator' to 'Inseminator'...

Laura's hands are so excited to meet Johnny Depp.

By the way, I won $100 on the penny slots.

All in all, we had fun and our souls got a good dose of the things we all seem to be made up of: music, sand and sunshine. I'm just grateful for incredible friends that I get to share every part of life with (oh, and for Dirk Nowitzki for sweeping Kobe).

Kindly,
Kaites
